Last but not least: Dentists want more celebrities

The trend toward tabloidization and personalization is on the rise—and it doesn’t stop at dental journals. Due to high demand, the premium dental magazine Dentastic has now expanded its celebrity section.

"The celebrity section is very popular with our readers and advertisers," explains publisher Boris Etter. That's why the magazine is now getting even more glamor. In the current issue, Miss Switzerland Linda Fäh and runner-up Tabea Schulthess reveal all about their teeth. In addition, Dave Dollé trains an attractive dentist. So far, so good. So how does the magazine differ from ordinary beauty and lifestyle magazines? Is there too little shop talk on the 48 glossy pages? The publisher reassures us: "Specialist articles, e.g. by top opinion leaders [...] guarantee high-quality medical reporting".
A quick glance at the magazine confirms that even on the celebrity pages, the self-proclaimed "luxury magazine" provides expert information. In the October issue, for example, interested readers can find out how often the Miss candidates brush their teeth. A small flaw: in four out of a total of six pictures, no teeth can be seen - despite the smiles. Instead, all the Misses score points in a quiz with dental knowledge (click here).

Test your specialist knowledge with the original question from the booklet. Attention: Answer alternative c is particularly insidious.
