New Swiss offshoot of Pro Sieben Sat.1 launches on October 8

The German media group Pro Sieben Sat.1 is expanding its offering. From October 8, the new free TV channel Puls 8 will be broadcasting Hollywood blockbusters and series in German-speaking Switzerland.

The channel is planned as a full channel with a 24-hour program of films, US series and telenovelas, as the Pro Sieben Sat.1 subsidiary Seven One Media Switzerland announced on Wednesday. There will explicitly be no teleshopping. Instead, primetime will begin daily at 8.00 pm. In future, the channel also wants to focus on Swiss productions. "We already have a great deal of production expertise and a large number of formats that run successfully on Sat.1 or ProSieben Schweiz," said Andrea Haemmerli, Managing Director of Seven One Media Switzerland, in the press release. Puls 8 positions itself as "modern, smart and urban", the statement continues. The core target group is 20 to 49-year-old women and men who run a household. For the media group, the launch of the TV channel is the next logical step in expanding its market share, as it writes. Puls 8 is also a good addition to the channel family in terms of content.
