Last but not least: The press release

Being a press secretary is no walk in the park. Especially when journalists keep pestering you with questions, even though everything is already in the press release. German government spokesperson Seibert has nothing to add.

The role of the Federal Intelligence Service (BND) in the NSA affair has turned into a major Scandal developed. For years, the BND spied on European companies and politicians on behalf of the NSA and is now being described as a "stooge" and "branch office" of the US intelligence services - if the Left has its way, the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office will now even investigate treason.

On Thursday, the German government provided information about the new BND scandal. Government spokesman Steffen Seibert announced that the Federal Chancellery had "identified technical and organizational deficits at the BND" and "immediately issued instructions to rectify them".

Any questions? The media representatives at the press conference convened the following day had. Unsurprisingly, given the explosive nature of the issue. The only problem was that the German government didn't want to and couldn't actually say any more about it than it had already written. All that is needed now is a capable man to face up to the rebellious press and make this clear to them. A summary of the press conference by Tilo Jung / Youngandnaive.com gives a good overview of what you have missed. All statements are from the conference on Friday, April 24, 2015 (hae).
