"The Migrants Files" wins EPP

The data project «The Migrants Files,» in which the NZZ also participated, was awarded the «European Press Prize» (EPP) in Amsterdam in the «Innovation Award» category.

"The Migrants Files" uses a detailed dataset to document the deaths of refugees on their way to Europe. Journalists from six European countries worked together on the project - including a team from the Neue Zürcher Zeitung led by data journalist Sylke Gruhnwald, who set up the NZZ Data Team. On March 31, 2014, the Neue Zürcher Zeitung and other media involved in the project published the initial findings of the project.
