Radio 1 launches burnout guidebook

Radio 1 and the Seeklinik Brunnen launch the new weekly advice format "Work-Life-Balancer". Every Friday morning at just after half past nine, Radio 1 broadcasts important tips on how to prevent burnout or recognize depression.

From now on, presenter Dani Wüthrich will discuss current topics relating to physical and mental health with a specialist from the Seeklinik Brunnen in the "Morning Show" on Radio 1 every Friday at 9:35 am. With the new format, Radio 1 and the Seeklinik Brunnen want to help listeners prevent burnout or depression and take control of their own work-life balance, according to a statement.

Depressive disorders are among the most common and, in terms of their severity, the most underestimated illnesses. According to estimates, around 350 million people worldwide now suffer from depression. By 2020, depression or affective disorders will be the second most common widespread disease, according to the World Health Organization. Two-thirds of these disorders remain untreated. The need for treatment of burnout in particular, as a special form of depression, has increased massively. The few specialized facilities in Switzerland have long waiting lists. Women are affected about two to three times more often than men.

As a clinic for integrative medicine, the Seeklinik Brunnen specializes in treating mental illnesses such as burnout, depression and sleep disorders. "With Radio 1, we reach an interested audience in Switzerland's most important business location. Radio 1's claim to offer high-quality radio entertainment coincides with our claim to quality and customer orientation" explains André Sidler, Head of Marketing and Communications, Seeklinik Brunnen. Through the partnership with Seeklinik Brunnen, Radio 1 is further expanding its expertise in reporting on health-related topics. "The Seeklinik Brunnen has proven professionals in topics such as psychosomatics, psychiatry and sleep medicine, who can explain complicated issues to listeners in a simple, understandable and competent manner and impart valuable knowledge," says Editor-in-Chief Oli Dischoe. The kick-off show for the new "Work-Life-Balancer" was broadcast on Friday, April 10 on Radio 1 and is also available for download as a podcast on iTunes as well as on the websites of Radio 1 and the Seeklinik Brunnen.
