Cat Medien with new owner
Cat Medien, a media company based in Baden that publishes Christian-oriented magazines, has a new majority shareholder. Fabian Egger, the company’s long-time managing director, has acquired a majority stake from 63-year-old co-founder Anton Wagner.
Wagner has sold his shareholding to Egger with immediate effect, as the new owner said on request on Tuesday. The parties have agreed not to disclose the amount of the stake or the purchase price. Ten percent of the shares are in the hands of subscribers. Cat Medien generates sales of six million Swiss francs with a staff of 40. The magazines published by Cat Medien include the Catholic-oriented Sonntag and the Reform-oriented Doppelpunkt. In addition, there is the publication Mein Magazin, the Swiss magazine for amateur authors, and the audio magazine Più. According to Egger, the media house is denominationally independent. (SDA)
