C-Factor: What next for Swiss hydropower?
For the Association of Swiss Electricity Companies (VSE), C-Factor has developed a web film and a series of infographics on the troubled Swiss hydropower sector.
They were once the pride of an entire nation. Today, hydropower plants that have become unprofitable are causing the Swiss energy sector no end of headaches. Do we still need them at all? How important are they for the Energy Strategy 2050? The Association of Swiss Electricity Companies (VSE) and the Swiss Water Management Association (SWV) commissioned C-Factor to package the answers to these questions in a short information film and an infographic that can be easily shared via social media.
Customized explanation format
Is the Swiss forest systemically relevant for our environment? And what do forests have in common with Swiss hydropower? Together with Eclipse Studios, C-Factor developed a surprising story for the web film and further developed the familiar "flipchart" format of previous VSE films. The focus is on VSE Director Michael Frank as a committed head of the Swiss energy sector. An accompanying infographic provides relevant background information on Swiss hydropower. C-Factor attached great importance to providing new insights into the topic and translating the messages into attractive and easy-to-understand images.
Infographic as an ideal supplement
"VSE's explanatory film in animated illustration style has set a precedent in the energy sector," says Dorothea Tiefenauer, Head of Communications and Human Resources. "Now C-Factor has once again succeeded in developing a convincing story for our topic. The film is characterized by a high degree of technical precision and is excellently complemented by the infographics and underpinned with facts."
