Charlie Hebdo with more than 200,000 subscribers

The wave of solidarity following the terrorist attacks in Paris has caused *Charlie Hebdo*'s subscriber base to rise to more than 200,000. Before the Islamist attacks in early January, the satirical magazine reported having around 10,000 regular subscribers.

Charlie Hebdo is due to be published again on February 25. The first issue of the weekly newspaper after the attack was produced in the editorial offices of the newspaper Libération and was published at the regular time. The magazine was printed 7.3 million times due to the high international demand. Before the terrorist attack that left twelve people dead, the weekly circulation had been around 60,000 copies, of which around half were sold.

The 2.37 million euros donated to the paper to date will go to the relatives of the victims, as the new editorial director Eric Portheault told the AFP news agency on Tuesday.

The magazine is expecting a net profit from magazine sales of around 10 million euros. Together with subscribers and other support, the magazine, which was in serious financial danger before the attack, can expect a boost of around30 million euros. (SDA)
