Man arrested after threatening Ringier
On Wednesday, the media company Ringier, headquartered on Dufourstrasse, received an anonymous threat. The Zurich City Police subsequently arrested a 43-year-old man.
The threat was received by telephone in the late afternoon, whereupon security measures were taken, as the Zurich city police announced in the evening. Following investigations, a man was arrested three and a half hours later. According to the statement, it was a 43-year-old man who the police tracked down in Zurich North. In initial questioning, he confessed and will now be handed over to the public prosecutor's office. The police gave no details of the background or motive.
As a result of the attack on the French satirical magazine "Charlie Hebdo", Ringier paid particular attention to exposed editorial offices. After the events in Paris, Ringier announced at the time that "all relevant departments had been made aware of the issue internally". (SDA)
