The federal government launches digital payment model
Der Bund's digital payment model launches today, Thursday. With the introduction of digital subscriptions, Der Bund is also revamping the look and feel of its digital platforms—from its website to its app.
The Berner Zeitung, which also belongs to Tamedia, is to introduce the paywall in the course of the coming year, as Sandra Locher, Head of Marketing and Communications at Espace Media, told SDA in response to an inquiry. This will affect Berner Zeitung, Thuner Tagblatt, Berner Oberländer and Langenthaler Tagblatt.

Following the redesign of the digital platforms, the introduction of digital subscriptions is the final step in the implementation of a uniform brand image. The Confederation wrote this in a statement on Thursday. Occasional readers can read 20 digital articles per month free of charge. If they want to receive more of the "Bund," there are five different subscriptions to choose from:
The Digital Light subscription offers an unlimited number of articles on Derbund.ch and the smartphone app. The Digital subscription combines access to Derbund.ch, the ePaper, and the app for smartphone and tablet with unlimited use. The Classic subscription offers the printed edition from Monday to Saturday including unlimited digital use on all devices. The Weekend subscription is mainly aimed at working readers who like to consume news digitally during the week and receive a newspaper on the weekend with the Bund and the Sonntagszeitung for in-depth reading. The most comprehensive subscription is Classic Plus. It includes the Bund from Monday to Saturday, plus the Sunday newspaper and unlimited digital use.
All existing newspaper subscribers will continue to receive unlimited access to all digital products after one-time registration.
