UPC Cablecom launches its own sitcom
To mark the launch of its new entertainment platform, Myprime, UPC Cablecom is producing its own TV series. In doing so, the company is breaking completely new ground.
The script for the twelve-part sitcom "Fässler-Kunz" is being written by Swiss screenwriter Katja Früh ("Lüthi und Blanc," "Der Bestatter") together with actor Patrick Frey. He also immediately takes on the male lead role, while Bernese actress Esther Gemsch plays the female lead.
The new sitcom "Fässler-Kunz" is about a married couple about to retire. Smaller and bigger everyday crises challenge the protagonists Céline and Thomas Fässler-Kunz again and again. All episodes will be available simultaneously from the beginning of December.
Strengthening the Swiss television landscape
Ivo Hoevel, Senior Vice President Marketing & Products, emphasizes that the company offers TV viewers great added value: "In addition to well-known foreign films and series, our customers also want exciting and entertaining content from Switzerland. The in-house production therefore ideally complements the offering. "With this production, we are also promoting the diversity of the Swiss TV landscape, which is an important concern for us," adds Hoevel.
From the beginning of December, the twelve episodes of the sitcom will be available to UPC Cablecom customers on Myprime. Where, when and how many episodes they want to watch is entirely up to them - true to the new TV offer from Myprime.
