Last but not least: Alien invasion in the head cinema

South African photographer Anelia Loubser rotates the faces she photographs to create striking alien portraits.

In her project "Alienation," the photographer from Cape Town deliberately plays with the eye of the beholder and reminds us that everything is a question of perspective. Even the smallest changes - in this case, a 180-degree turn and a limited crop - can turn an everyday sight into a new visual experience. Loubser invokes a quote from American psychotherapist Wayne Dyer: "When you look at things in a different way, the things you look at change." Finally, we know what aliens look like. Or rather, we always knew thanks to E.T., but now get confirmation thanks to Anelia Loubser. (hae)
