Werbekontor: Fair Trade Town launched in Switzerland
The international Fair Trade Town campaign is coming to Switzerland. Swiss towns and municipalities can now apply to become Fair Trade Towns. Werbekontor created the website and the interactive web platform.
Fair Trade Town is a campaign to promote fair trade. Cities and municipalities are recognized for their commitment to fair trade. The special thing about Fair Trade Town is that every individual can become active. The population, companies, institutions, stores, restaurants, hotels, media and politicians can make a contribution and together fulfill the criteria for the award.
The campaign was initiated by Swiss Fair Trade, the umbrella organization of fair trade organizations in Switzerland. Werbekontor has created a communication presence for Fair Trade Town that is based on the Swiss Fair Trade image but is still independent. In addition to letterheads, flyers in three languages, dispensers and roll-ups were also produced.
The heart of the campaign is the interactive web platform Fairtradetown.chon which every town and municipality in Switzerland has its own Fair Trade profile, which can be updated on an ongoing basis. A map of Switzerland shows which city/municipality is already a Fair Trade Town or is applying for the award. The aim of the campaign is to award around 55 Swiss towns and municipalities by 2018, thereby involving over 1 million people.
