Highlight Communications halves net profit
Highlight Communications, a media group listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, increased its revenue by just under 54 percent to 125.7 million Swiss francs in the first quarter of 2014. The rise in revenue was driven by the film segment.
This was announced by the company on Monday. Operating expenses, however, also climbed significantly by a good 36 percent to 137.2 million Swiss francs, mainly due to depreciation and impairments. Despite the higher expenses than sales, the company posted a profit. The Group's quarterly profit halved to one million Swiss francs from 2.2 million in the previous year. For 2014 as a whole, the company continues to expect sales of between 380 and 410 million Swiss francs and a positive consolidated result for shareholders of between nine and eleven million Swiss francs. In 2013, the profit of the Swiss film and sports rights marketer slumped from 26.3 to 10.3 million Swiss francs (Werbewoche.ch reported).
