Tamedia acquires Publigroupe shares from Tweedy Browne
Tamedia is acquiring the 235,465 Publigroupe shares previously held by Tweedy Browne LLC at 190 francs per share. In addition, on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, Tamedia acquired another 5,057 Publigroupe shares from other sellers.
The shareholding of Tamedia and its affiliated persons in Publigroupe SA will thus increase from 170,294 shares or 7.3 percent to 410,816 shares or 17.6 percent. This makes the media group Publigroupe's largest shareholder, Tamedia announced on Wednesday.
On April 17, 2014, the Swiss media group Tamedia submitted a pre-announcement of a public tender offer for Publigroupe SA (Valor 462630, ISIN CH0004626302, PUBN). This envisaged a price of CHF 150 per registered share. Publication of the offer prospectus is scheduled for the end of May. The focus of the planned takeover is the participation in the directory business Local.ch, which Publigroupe operates jointly with Swisscom.
