Last but not least: Of floor coverings and naked women
Sex sells well, as we all know, and we have long since become accustomed to seeing half-naked women and men on advertising posters and advertisements - or so one would think. The following case proves the opposite.
According to Wuv.de, the company vans of Morsbach-based interior decorator Dieter Holschbach carry the text "Wir machen Geile Bodenbeläge" ("We make awesome floor coverings"). A naked woman with open thighs is curled up underneath. Sex sells or not - this clearly went too far for the Morsbachers. This form of corporate propaganda would discriminate against and humiliate women, according to the angry citizens. The German Advertising Council quickly joined the protests with a public reprimand: The depiction of "Geilen" floor coverings with the obviously sexual depiction of women humiliates the female sex in an unacceptable way, the body said. At least the whole thing had something good for Dieter Holschbach: he is no longer an unknown quantity - in Morschbach and the surrounding area, at any rate, the children will be brought indoors and the shutters will be closed when a van from the Grüsel company comes along...
