Less than a year ago, Buxhofer handed over the management of the editorial office in Chur to work more as a journalist (Werbewoche.ch reported). The deceased leaves behind a wife and a son. His unexpected death was announced by his family and Südostschweiz Medien on Tuesday.

Buxhofer, who had left his mark on the Bündner Tagblatt over the last few years, handed over the editorial management, which he had taken over in 1995, in the middle of last year. He was the 26th editor-in-chief in the history of the oldest daily newspaper in Graubünden. Buxhofer remained loyal to the Bündner Tagblatt as a journalist after stepping down as editor-in-chief. In addition, he devoted himself increasingly to his commitment to the Arosa Culture Association, which he, who played the organ himself, presided over with passion. (SDA)
