Cannes Lions awards work in the fight against poverty
"Cannes Chimera," an initiative of Cannes Lions Festival, awarded eight ideas for creative projects dedicated to improving living conditions in developing countries. The projects will be implemented in the coming months.
The Cannes Lions Festival, which will take place in Cannes from June 15 to 21, 2014, is now awarding prizes to eight project ideas that address the fight against poverty as part of the "Cannes Chimera Initiative". The finished works are to be shown at the Cannes Lions Festival.
The winning concepts aim to draw the public's attention to existing problems and motivate them for possible charitable commitments. A total of 900 entries were received from 79 countries. The eight winning projects will be rewarded with up to 100,000 US dollars.
The winning projects are:
- "The Share Exchange" by Young & Rubicam, Singapore
- "Good Cents" by Joe Public, South Africa
- "The GAP Index" by venturethree, Great Britain
- "The Act Button" by Naked Communications, Australia
- "$.125 cube experience" by JWT, Israel
- "Gamers VS Poverty" by DFCB Digital, Philippines.
- "One Two Five" by PHD International, Great Britain
- "We See Women" by Vital Voices Global Partnership, USA.
