Hostpoint cracks 10 million revenue mark
Compared to the previous year, the Swiss web hosting provider’s revenue rose by 10.5 percent to 10.5 million Swiss francs. As of the end of 2013, Hostpoint hosted approximately 180,000 websites and 210,000 domain names.
The web hosting provider Hostpoint from Rapperswil-Jona has been growing continuously for years. According to a press release issued by the company on Wednesday, it is focusing entirely on Switzerland as a location. Hostpoint provides all services from Switzerland, including support, development and administration. The company employs 36 permanent staff (up six on the previous year) at its offices in Rapperswil-Jona. In order to be prepared for further growth, 2.8 million Swiss francs have been invested in the expansion of the infrastructure, which is operated exclusively in Switzerland, over the last 18 months.
The long-standing partnership with the Migros Club School was also expanded. It now offers courses designed by Hostpoint and taught by Klubschule instructors. A new hosting administration tool for customers was also introduced in December. It allows several hosting accounts to be managed with just one login and enables authorizations to be granted to other people and service providers (e.g. web designers or webmasters).
