At the «Year of Advertising» awards, the agency at the airport was honored with a bronze megaphone. The competition was dominated by Heimat Berlin.
Heimat Berlin dominates the "The Year of Advertising 2014" competition. Eight of the 19 awards presented by the jury alone went to the agency from the German capital. Scoring was Swisscom (gold category Out of Home/Activities), Otto (bronze category Film) and again and again Hornbach. Gold in five categories for the Hornbach Hammer! - An achievement that the jury additionally honored with the Grand Prix in the Integrated Campaign category. Heimat Berlin thus leads the agency ranking of the competition by an unassailable margin (55 points).
With four Megaphone awards, Leo Burnett secures second place (20 points). Twice silver (Makita "Every day begins with the right tool" and Sealife "Closer than you think") and twice bronze (Fiat "#ZeroFollowers" and Makita) - that's the balance for the Frankfurt-based company.
Scholz & Friends return to third place in the competition ranking (12 points) with work for Opel "Active Sondermodelle" (bronze category Campaign), FAZ "Lisa Simpson" (bronze category Print) and Deutsche Bank "Macht Kunst" (silver category Out of Home/Activities).
Skiwaxbrief brings megaphone to Switzerland
To Altenrhein in Switzerland, the agency at the airport fetches a bronze megaphone for the Skiwaxbrief (direct marketing) for Pitsch Sport. In order to motivate the customers of the small Gossau sports store Pitsch Sport to go winter shopping early, the agency developed a letter at the airport, which can be used to wax the skis right after reading. The campaign of the St.Gallen agency has already won several awards (for example. BoB Awards Frankfurt 2013, SDV Awards 2013German Design Award 2014) and is now receiving further recognition.
563 entries were submitted to the regular competition. Of these, 337 entries were included in the industry comparison. 151 of these works cleared another hurdle by making it onto the jury's shortlist. A 27-member jury (Jdw.com/jury), composed of clients from the corporate side, creative professionals and strategists from agencies, as well as senior editors from media and trade media, evaluated and selected the Megaphone award winners in gold, silver and bronze from the shortlist.
The winners will be honored at a Winners Dinner on January 23, 2014. Awards will also be presented to the Newcomer Agency of the Year and, for the first time, to the winners of the campus competition for young talent. All the selected and award-winning works will appear in the book on the "Year of Advertising 2014," which will be published by Econ Verlag in April.
