JvM/Next launches first water-saving encyclopedia

The Zurich-based digital agency Jung von Matt/Next developed the Watersaving.com platform—a global online encyclopedia on water conservation.

The non-commercial initiative Watersaving.com of the Neoperl Group aims to sensitize the global population to the issue of drinking water and water conservation. In a map application on Watersaving.com, users from all over the world can create content and edit it in the sense of a collaborative encyclopedia. In addition to user-generated content, the platform provides well-founded and comprehensive information on the topic of water and shows ways and means of actively saving drinking water in everyday life.

The platform is based on the open source content management system DjangoCMS written in Python and implemented using Responsive Design. A close link between the site and the social media networks Facebook, Twitter and Google+ makes it possible to provide the community with the latest updates at all times and promotes dialog with the target groups. The content on Watersaving.com is also prepared in such a way that it can be easily shared via social media.
