Last but not least: Stop Motion

New Zealand's road safety campaign has been giving the rest of the world food for thought since this week. No wonder, given that ad.

In road traffic, it takes very little to do a lot. In most cases, a little carelessness is enough to change the lives of those involved in a fatal way or even end them. Normally nothing happens, but if it does, a mistake cannot be undone. Even if nobody had bad intentions, no road rage was involved and no alcohol was consumed. If you are driving too fast, you not only endanger yourself, but also people who are momentarily inattentive and consequently make mistakes.

The NZ Transport Agency appeals to drivers' common sense, attentiveness and concentration not just with a raised index finger, but with an extraordinary commercial. What if the person who caused the accident and the victim could talk about the impending drama a split second before the crash? They would like to reverse the impending situation. But as I said, unfortunately that's not possible. The one-minute video has been spreading like wildfire outside New Zealand since Tuesday. If you haven't seen it yet (because you've been busy working instead of surfing YouTube, for example) - voilà. (hae)
