Le Temps: Sale price too high according to L'Agefi
The business newspaper L'Agefi will not be acquiring the French-Swiss daily Le Temps either. It was unable to reach an agreement on a sale price with the two current owners, Tamedia and Ringier.
The first offer from L'Agefi was deemed insufficient by Tamedia and Ringier, L'Agefi announced on Thursday evening. In the communiqué, L'Agefi called the price demanded by the owners "unrealistic" and "not reasonable".
The media companies Tamedia and Ringier, which each hold 46.2 percent of Le Temps, put the newspaper up for sale on October 8. At the end of November, Ringier said that a dozen dossiers had been received so far. The decision is expected to be made in the first half of 2014.
A takeover of the newspaper by the previous management has already failed. The two media companies rejected this at the beginning of November. In view of the lack of financing, a management buyout is not realistic.Werbewoche.ch reported). (SDA)
