Tamedia secures the Landbote

According to Schweiz am Sonntag, the Zurich media company and the Winterthur daily newspaper Der Landbote have reached an agreement. Tamdia does not wish to confirm the takeover.

According to insiders, the details of the deal were clarified a few days ago. Tamedia's interest in a takeover had been public for some time (Werbewoche.ch reported) - the media company has held a 20 percent stake in Ziegler Druck- und Verlags AG, which publishes the Landbote, since 2005. The newspaper Schweiz am Sonntag claims to know from "well-informed circles" that the purchase price is over CHF 50 million - including the real estate.

Tamedia spokesperson Christoph Zimmer denies the takeover - but says the company is "very satisfied with the cooperation to date". It is clear that Tamedia is one of the possible partners should a sale take place. (hae/SaS)
