Tamedia: Ignaz Staub succeeds Arthur Liener as ombudsman
Ignaz Staub will become Tamedia's new ombudsman. The longtime *Tages-Anzeiger* editor will replace Arthur Liener. Liener, a former chief of staff of the Swiss Army, will step down from the position in the spring of 2010 after ten years.
The 60-year-old began his career in journalism as a freelance sports reporter for Swiss radio and television before joining the Tages-Anzeiger in 1987 after working for Weltwoche and Schweizer Familie. During his more than twenty years at the Tages-Anzeiger, he was head of the foreign department and reported as a correspondent from the Middle East and the United States of America. The independent ombudsman's office accepts complaints about the editorial content of all Tamedia media.
