Chur agency Skipp founded
Ivo Frei, a web pioneer from Graubünden, is launching a new agency together with filmmaker Mike Eschmann («Achtung, Fertig, Charlie») and brand strategist Fabio Aresu (Markenkern). Skipp will launch in September 2013.
According to the press release, the new agency is merging five sectors at once: the process begins with brand strategy, continues with traditional PR and advertising agencies, the internet agency and combines with the increasingly important element of film. "We are the first company in south-eastern Switzerland that no longer thinks in terms of distribution channels or disciplines. We see the big picture in high quality. This allows the customer to reach their goal faster and much more efficiently," say the founders. Skip acts as a general contractor. The advantage is that the customer only has one contact person for all communication. "Today, you can no longer differentiate between online and offline, between ideas and technology. The mix of different ingredients is crucial."
The core element is the specially developed Skipp compass. "With this, we can finally present the complex world of brands, advertising, PR, the Internet and film in a simplified way to companies in all sectors without using foreign words and develop concrete offers from this. We don't sell the customer what we want, but what they really need," says Frei. Today, for example, a YouTube video for the online communication of
enormous importance. But a video must always have the right quality and a good story.
This is one of the reasons why Mike Eschmann, a top Swiss director and screenwriter, is part of the team. Fabio Aresu is on board for brand issues and PR. The Graubünden native studied communications management in Lucerne, is a lecturer in business communication and works for HTW Chur, top chef Andreas Caminada, Heineken Switzerland and the Rewe Group, among others. The agency Markenkern, which specializes in identity and relations, will also move to the new location.
Together with the Domenig architectural firm, Ivo Frei has converted offices in the old "Schoggifabrik" in Chur. Skipp is not just a fabulous name, it's the program: anyone entering the new premises will be amazed that the nautical world has been authentically implemented. Customers are greeted with "Ahoy!" and even a real, 60-year-old sailing boat adorns the entrance to the new agency premises.
