UPC Cablecom: Ivo Hoevel takes over marketing

UPC Cablecom has appointed Ivo Hoevel as the new head of Marketing and Products. The 44-year-old German comes from Sky Deutschland and will start in September 2013.

According to the press release, Ivo Hoevel is a marketing strategist and a profound expert in the telecommunications and entertainment industry. Hoevel has been Senior Vice President of Marketing at Sky Deutschland in Munich since 2010. In this role, he successfully drove forward the conception and marketing of new TV offerings and opened up additional digital distribution channels for the company.

Comprehensive track record

Before joining Sky Deutschland, Hoevel held management positions at telecommunications provider O2 in Germany for over ten years in the areas of customer experience and relationship management, product management as well as traditional advertising and brand management. Most recently, as Senior Vice President Marketing, he was responsible for the development and launch of new mobile, hardware and broadband offerings. In the course of his career, Ivo Hoevel has received several awards for market success in brand management, advertising and customer experience. Hoevel has an education in marketing and advertising as well as a degree in business administration.

In his new role as Senior Vice President Marketing and Products at UPC Cablecom, Ivo Hoevel will report directly to CEO Eric Tveter and will be a member of the Executive Board. "I am delighted that we have been able to recruit Ivo Hoevel, a top manager with an outstanding track record in TV and mobile marketing, for this key function," says CEO Eric Tveter. He adds: "Following the successful repositioning of the past few years, we now want to give the market new impetus and open up additional business areas.
