Last but not least: Graubünden government goes social media
The canton of Graubünden is taking its first steps on social media platforms. Starting immediately, three members of the government, seven department heads, and the State Chancellery will be tweeting and posting.
A one-year social media trial phase was decided on, based on the new communication strategy. The use of multimedia has already begun. Short film clips on government decisions and administrative business are presented on the cantonal website and on YouTube (Werbewoche.ch reported). And so from today, Thursday, members of the government, departments and the media service of the State Chancellery will also be communicating on Facebook and Twitter. The aim is to use Twitter and Facebook to strengthen the dialog with the population, announces the government. Social media enables simple and direct communication. In this way, the administration should be more accessible to citizens, as feedback is also possible.
The Director of Construction and Transport Mario Cavigelli, Director of Finance Barbara Janom Steiner and Minister of Justice Christian Rathgeb are currently active on Twitter and Facebook with personal accounts. Also active on Twitter are the heads of the Offices for Primary Education, Culture, Communes, Forests and Natural Hazards and Hunting and Fishing. The media services of the cantonal police and the registrar's office are also taking part in the trial, as is the Plantahof Agricultural Education Center.
Mario Cavigelli already has 21 likes on his Facebook page. Barbara Janom Steiner has 13 and Christian Rathgeb even has 275 likes. Let the competitive battle (pardon: the trial phase) begin. (uma)
