Res Strehle turns to the Press Council
Res Strehle filed a complaint against *Die Weltwoche* with the Press Council on Wednesday. In its February 7 cover story, the magazine accused Strehle of having had ties «to bombers and left-wing extremists» in his youth.
Strehle wants the Press Council to clarify "whether this type of campaign journalism, as practiced by Weltwoche, is permissible", as he told the news agency SDA.
In connection with the article, the weekly also published various police photos taken by the police identification service between 1980 and 1984. One picture, taken after the eviction of a squatted house on Stauffacher in Zurich, shows Strehle (Werbewoche.ch reported).
It is unclear who leaked the document from the identification service to Weltwoche. In this connection, the Zurich cantonal police filed a criminal complaint with the public prosecutor's office last week for breach of official secrecy. (SDA)
