Solothurn Film Festival: Jury and Audience Awards presented

The 48th Solothurn Film Festival comes to a close with the awards presented at the «Soirée de clôture.» Both major prizes, the «Prix de Soleure» and the «Prix du Public,» were awarded to films co-produced by SRG.

The two main prizes go to Mano Khalil and Markus Imhoof. SRG co-produced 17 of 19 nominated films in the two competitions. This writes SRG on Friday on Presseportal.ch.

This year's jury prize "Prix de Soleure" goes to Bernese director and producer Mano Khalil. He receives the prize of 60,000 Swiss francs for his film "The Beekeeper". The film portrays a Kurdish beekeeper who lost everything in his homeland and finds his way back to life in Switzerland.

The "Prix du Public" audience award, worth 20,000 Swiss francs, also went to an SRG co-production: Swiss filmmaker Markus Imhoof was honored for his film about bee mortality. "More than Honey".
