3+ Group: 2012 most successful year to date
For the TV channel 3+, 2012 was the year with the highest market share in its history among viewers aged 15 to 34. Meanwhile, the channel 4+, which was launched in 2012, has had a positive start.
Despite the sports summer with the European Football Championships and the Olympics, 3+ increased its primetime viewing by 12 percent year-on-year, especially in the target group of 15-34 year-olds. On average, the Swiss private channel was the fourth most-watched station on the eve, ahead of SRF 1, 3+ wrote in a press release on Thursday. In the target group of 15- to 34-year-olds, the station increased by 37 percent on the evening before compared to 2011 and was thus ahead of SRF 1. Among 15- to 49-year-olds, the private station increased by 7 percent. The 3+ also made gains among all viewers: In primetime, the station improved its market share by 17 percent, and by as much as 28 percent in the evening before.
Channel 4+, which was launched on October 9, 2012 with a focus on blockbusters, also had a positive year: Among 15- to 49-year-old viewers, the station averaged a market share of 0.7 percent in primetime.
