Last but not least: Into the new year with hobby poetry

Indian Communications Minister Kapil Sibal is now also a crooner. He wrote four heartbreak songs for a Bollywood production and one of them was actually deemed suitable for film.

The minister's amateur poetry is to be shown in the movie Bandook (Rifle). According to SDA, the film's director, Aditya Om, has personally engaged the minister for the accompanying song. The film is about the gun culture in North India and the connection between politics and crime. The minister's song, however, is about the pain of separation between two lovers. How does that fit together? You're still asking! After all, Bandook is a Bollywood movie. And to top it all off, couples in love, or sad single newbies, can also listen to the song on their phones. According to SDA, the Bandook music is already available as a ringtone.

But enough of the irony, because as the director Om said in his eulogy for Sibal, the minister can write wonderful love poetry due to his excellent literary knowledge. And where does a busy politician from the ruling Congress Party quickly write a few love songs? Quite simply: during his flights on his iPad. At least that's what he told The Economic Times newspaper, according to SDA. Watch the movie (uma)
