Info point with giant touchscreen at Chur station

Switzerland’s oldest city has gained another attraction. A new touchscreen information kiosk was unveiled at the Chur train station on Friday. It provides visitors with everything they need to know about the city. Newmedia played a key role in the technical implementation.

There is now an information point with a large touchscreen at Chur railroad station, where information about the Grisons capital can be accessed. Guests can find out what Chur has to offer in terms of culture, events, gastronomy, weather, shopping, leisure and much more in text, maps, pictures and videos.

The web agency Südostschweiz Newmedia was part of the technical implementation of the information pillar and developed the solution in collaboration with the HTW Chur. "We developed a system for Chur Tourism that allows all multimedia content to be managed centrally. The data is delivered to the info point in real time," says Claudio Cathomen, site manager of Newmedia Ilanz, describing the requirements of the project. Nm.Tourism, a website solution developed by Newmedia that is specially tailored to the requirements of the tourism industry, is being used. The information pillar in Chur will not remain alone. In a few weeks, the second info point will be inaugurated in llanz.
