Last but not least: Edi.12 - navel-gazing, plagiarism or just brave?
Not everyone seems to be happy with the Edi.12 awards ceremony. Especially not when jurors award advertising, industrial and corporate films in which they themselves are involved.
A TV commercial for the Hyundai i30 has won an award for the "most daring car commercial of the year." The film by Ruf Lanz received a Bronze Edi. One person, however, is not so happy with it: Helmut Glogger, the mailer of Blick am Abend. As he writes, the excellent film was already in 2011 on Youtube to be seen after the Frankfurt Motor Show. Glogger writes in his "Mail" that this "little film without script or direction" was already seen on Youtube in 2011: "VW boss Winterkorn got behind the wheel and raves about the vehicle, saying that neither BMW nor VW could manage something like this. The film, which Edi presents with opening and closing credits, is enriched with a long series of screenplay and director credits:

In this case, a small detail shows that at least the footage was not exactly produced very elaborately: Under camera it says "hidden camera. What the Edi judges now call "the most courageous car commercial of the year", Glogger rather associates with plagiarism. But may what is a prize-winner not have its origin in a simple Youtube film? After all, the film has already been clicked on around 75,000 times. So Ruf Lanz hardly assumed that no one would notice the similarity. (uma)
