Ruedi Bruderer new president of the SSM media union

The Swiss Media Workers' Union (SSM) has a new president. At a convention held Thursday in Lucerne, members elected Ruedi Bruderer to succeed Barbara Büttner.

Büttner held the post for twelve years. The 55-year-old Bruderer is a journalist at Radiotelevisiun Svizra Rumantscha RTR in Chur. He is assisted by Rafaël Poncioni, a journalist at Télévision Suisse Romande TSR, and Benjamin Tanner, a director at Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen SRF, as vice presidents, according to SSM.
 
According to its own information, the SSM union has 3,500 members, mainly from the electronic media. Recently, the SSM concluded a new collective labor agreement with SRG. (SDA)
