FOPH awards measles limitation campaign to KSB and YJOO
The pitch for the 2013–2015 measles elimination campaign commissioned by the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) has been decided: Following a two-stage, selective bidding process, the agency Krieg Schlupp Bürge (KSB), together with YJOO in Zurich, has been awarded the contract.
KSB with YJOO convinced the jury in particular with their creative idea and the modular, participatory communication measures. The implementation requires comprehensive strategic considerations, because the campaign is planned in the framework of the National Strategy Measles Elimination 2011-2015 in close cooperation with the cantons. This writes the FOPH in a statement on Friday.
It is hoped that communication measures over the three campaign years 2013-2015 will improve the level of knowledge about measles among the population. In the second year of the campaign, the aim is to mobilize people for catch-up vaccination by highlighting instructions for action. In the third year, the campaign should specifically promote catch-up vaccination, especially in regions with low vaccination coverage rates.
The measles campaign is one of six axes of intervention in the national strategy, which aims to eliminate measles by 2015. This is the target set by WHO Europe. For Switzerland, this means that 95 percent of all persons born after 1963 must be immune by 2015.
