Futurecom: iPad app to combat hearing loss

Zurich-based agency Futurecom has developed a self-screening iPad app for hearing aid manufacturer Sonova that allows self-diagnosis of hearing damage.

According to a press release, the app will enable simple self-diagnosis to detect gradual hearing loss. The Self Screening Stations will initially be set up in busy shopping malls in the U.S., Canada and Australia. Visitors are asked to complete the test, which takes just a few minutes, and find out whether it would be advisable for them to use a hearing aid. If users provide their personal data at the end, they subsequently receive a detailed evaluation by e-mail or post.

The tool enables Sonova to generate leads outside the usual channels and to establish contact with potential buyers of hearing aids at an early stage, it continues. Since the leads are collected in a central backend, Sonova has the possibility to precisely measure the use after the campaign.

Responsible at Sonova: Renato DiRubbo (Retail Marketing Director), Sonja Koch (Retail Marketing Manager). Responsible at Futurecom: Sandro Kümin (Art Director), Vincent Schaublin (Screen Design) Marcel Berberich (Programming), Jürgen Vanicek (Consulting), Carlo Schenker (Consulting).
