Publigroupe sells Namics

Publigroupe is selling its 91-percent stake in the e-commerce consulting firm Namics. The shares will be purchased by Namics management, consisting of a total of 22 partners.

With the sale of Namics to the 22 partners, who are based in St. Gallen, Zurich, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich, Publigroupe is making further progress with its strategic focus on the core areas of Media Sales with Publicitas, Search & Find with Local.ch and DMS with technology-supported, scalable services for advertising clients, Publigroupe wrote in a press release on Friday. A good partnership with the company is planned for the future.

Namics employs 350 people, develops and implements e-commerce projects and generated sales of CHF 44.8 million in 2011. Namics' clients include leading companies in Switzerland and Germany. Publigroupe has held a majority stake in Namics since 2000.

Hans-Peter Rohner, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Publigroupe: "For many years, Namics was a Publigroupe holding with solid, steady growth and was an important supplier of know-how for the entire group during this time. However, as a very consultancy-oriented company, a partnership model with the corresponding ownership structure is better suited to Namics' current business model. Publigroupe is increasingly focusing on performance-oriented businesses that offer technology-supported, scalable solutions for advertisers with the aim of optimizing their marketing expenditure. Further acquisitions are also firmly planned in these areas and the sales proceeds will be used. Project-related collaboration with Namics is also planned for the future."
