Media prize for local journalism awarded
On April 27, 2012, the Swiss Awards for Local Journalism—each worth 20,000 francs—were presented for the second time at the Stadttheater Bern in the categories of print, radio, TV, and online, along with the Swiss Award for Press Photography.
More than 700 personalities from the fields of politics, business, culture and the media were treated to a show of what excellent work local journalists and press photographers do, according to a statement. The highlight of the event was the tribute to photographer Robert Frank, who was born in Zurich in 1924.

"Agglo-Blog" on the topic of migration: My neighborhood, my home

The "Swiss Press Photo" prize for press photography was also awarded. This award went to Mark Henley. He found an adequate look for the subjects economy and banks, which are considered to be difficult to photograph, writes the foundation.

It had already been announced in February that Zurich-born photographer Robert Frank, who has long lived in the U.S., would receive the Swiss Press Photo Lifetime Achievement Award. Frank was also honored on Friday evening.
