SFLB launches Emmentaler with Gecko technology

Emmentaler Switzerland is breaking new ground in the search for quality improvement. Gecko technology was developed in close cooperation with the ALP research institute. Spillmann/Felser/Leo Burnett has realized a campaign for this.

Flies are a stress factor for cows, the agency writes in a press release. They are constantly buzzing around their heads, which is why the cows react with nervous defensive movements. This affects the milk in two ways: the additional stress leads to a reduction in milk quality and the milk is moved more strongly by defensive movements in the udder. Therefore, together with the ALP research institute, a way was sought to rid the cows of the annoying flies. The solution: Gecko technology.

The gecko technology is as simple as it is unconventional, it continues: geckos, which feed on insects, are released on the cows. They eat around 20 flies a day and therefore quickly put an end to the fly infestation. The unusual technology is being advertised with a TV commercial, among other things.
