Last but not least: "As Time Goes Byte"
The Bern Museum of Communication has added a futuristic module to its permanent exhibition, «As Time Goes Byte,» and it’s quite something: In a living room of the future, computer technology plays a much greater role than it does today.
For example, the sofa in this room is not just for resting and reading. It can also carry out medical checks. The sofa provides the resulting data to the interactive table, which then suggests a menu to the occupant. According to a press release from the Museum of Communication, in the future computers will be integrated into rooms and objects everywhere and will exchange information with each other.
So digital technology will soon no longer just be entering our living rooms through social media - it will soon be our living rooms.
The new module will be accessible from Thursday. It marks the end of the "As Time Goes Byte" exhibition and is based on a research project carried out by the Bern Museum together with the University of Art and Design of the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland and other partners.
