Last but not least: Penis-free in the App Store
Because the cover story of the Spanish science magazine Muy Interesante focuses on the male sex organ, Apple has refused to display it on the virtual newsstand.
Under the title "Truth and myths about the penis", the aim was to provide information about health problems associated with the penis. Quite well-behaved and scientific. It goes without saying that a naked man adorns the cover. What else could it be? But of course he covers the corpus delicti with his hands. Also quite harmless. But the Spaniards seem to have done the math without Apple. The cover was refused admission to the virtual newsstand Newsstand - on the grounds that the "content" presented violated the store's guidelines. Apparently, the problem lies with the intended age rating of 12 years. According to Apple, what is possible in the printed version is not allowed on the iPad. The cover is not appropriate for young people aged 12 and over, but is rather aimed at an adult audience.
Incidentally, the Spaniards have since submitted a revised cover to Apple. The penis-free title reads: "Truth and myths about the protruding member". In addition, the area below the cover man's waistline is covered by the large letters.
