More freedom with Swisscom TV
Several new features from Swisscom TV make watching TV more enjoyable. In addition to the option to watch TV on demand, there is also an app that serves as a remote control.
Swisscom TV customers will now be able to time-shift broadcasts from 70 channels for up to 24 hours. Several hundred Swisscom TV customers are already using this function as part of a market test. This will be gradually expanded by several thousand customers at a time in the coming weeks, so that by mid-year all Swisscom TV Plus customers will benefit from this new service at no additional cost.
Swisscom TV is also expanding its app offering. Customers can now use their iPad as a remote control for their TV at home. The app developed for this purpose will be available free of charge from Apple's App Store over the coming weeks and, in addition to the remote control function, also offers all the services of the existing Swisscom TV Guide app.
From February 29, SRG will broadcast the six TV channels SF 1, SF zwei, TSR 1, TSR2, RSI LA 1 and RSI LA 2 in high-definition (HD) quality. Swisscom will make these channels freely available to all its TV customers. Customers of Swisscom TV plus, as well as Swisscom TV basic and Swisscom TV start, will be able to receive the six channels in HD quality at no additional cost.
