Finanz und Wirtschaft restructures newspaper, online and editorial offices

From Saturday, January 14, 2012, Finanz und Wirtschaft will be published as a new Zweibund newspaper with a refreshed design. The investor newspaper also has a new editor-in-chief and an expanded editorial team.

The previous rigid separation between Switzerland and abroad in corporate reporting will be abolished, as detailed in a press release issued on Thursday. The first section, "Companies", is now dedicated to company and sector analysis with a global perspective and continues to cover all listed Swiss companies. The second bundle, "Markets", is intended to provide an overview with macroeconomic analyses and reports on strategic investment topics at the level of asset classes such as equities, bonds, commodities, foreign exchange, derivatives and emerging markets.

In order to meet the changes in the markets and readers' need for up-to-date information, Finanz und Wirtschaft will be launching a completely revamped digital offering in a few weeks' time, according to a statement. This will include detailed reporting and will be available online as well as on tablets and smartphones. The service is subject to a charge and is available as an annual subscription at a price of CHF 274. The newspaper can still be subscribed to - including the digital offering - for CHF 332 per year. A small part of the online content, such as the Morgenreport, will remain available free of charge.

Personnel changes

As a result, Finanz und Wirtschaft has also restructured its editorial team and expanded it to around 50 journalists, who are fully integrated into both the newspaper and the digital offering.
