Change at the top of Thomson Reuters
Tom Glocer, the CEO of news and data provider Thomson Reuters, is stepping down. His successor will be James Smith, who has been in charge of day-to-day operations.
This was announced by the company on Thursday, according to SDA. Glocer will relinquish his post on January 1. Smith had previously headed the Professional division, which provides specialist information for lawyers, scientists and companies. Glocer most recently restructured the Markets division. This division, which supplies financial market customers, companies and the media with news, trading platforms and data, is clearly feeling the effects of the banks' cost-cutting measures. The Thomson Reuters share price has fallen by around 30 percent in the past six months.
