Press Spokesperson of the Year Has Been Chosen: A Woman for the First Time
Sonja Zöchling Stucki has been named Switzerland’s Press Spokesperson of the Year. More than 200 business and trade journalists evaluated the work of press spokespeople in Switzerland for the magazine *Schweizer Journalist*.
The spokesperson for Zurich Airport became the first woman to be ranked No. 1. However, Zöchling Stucki had been ranked between 4th and 7th place each year for the past five years, according to a Swiss press release published Tuesday on Presseportal.ch.
In second place this year is Jean-Claude Donzel of Swiss. Third place goes to Migros spokesperson Urs Peter Naef. Publigroupe spokesperson Beat W. Werder is the “Rising Star of the Year.” He moved up 37 spots and is now ranked 26th. At the bottom of the list in terms of journalists’ favor are companies such as Google, Swatch, Aldi, Nestlé, and Apple. Journalists say that Nestlé lacks a culture of communication. Apple’s press office is described as friendly but uninspiring.
The survey also assessed the work of PR agencies. As in the previous year, Lemongrass Communications ranked first, ahead of Richterich & Partner and IRF Communications.

This is the first time the work of government agency spokespersons has been surveyed. The comments from the political journalists surveyed on this topic range from alarming to devastating, as Presseportal further reports. «They say nothing, they know nothing, and they’re unreachable,» the journalists said of most government agency spokespersons
