Bernerbär: Jean-Claude Galli becomes editor-in-chief
Jean-Claude Galli will become editor-in-chief of the Bernerbär effective March 1, 2012. He will succeed Matthias Mast, who is leaving the weekly newspaper at the end of February 2012 at his own request.
According to a statement on Monday, 40-year-old Jean-Claude Galli has been working at Bernerbär since 2010, most recently in the position of co-chief editor. Having already worked for Bernerbär from 2000 to 2007, most recently as deputy editor-in-chief, he expanded his professional experience at Sonntagsblick and Blick am Abend. At Sonntagsblick he worked in the entertainment/show department, at Blick am Abend he was interim head of entertainment and responsible for the Bern office. He also oversees his show "HalliGalli, der Eventtalk" at Radio Capital FM.
The free newspaper Bernerbär, which belongs to Espace Media, is published every Tuesday with a circulation of 100'000 copies. The focus is on the people of Bern, about whom the Bernerbär reports every week in a colorful, tongue-in-cheek and sometimes polarizing way.
