Facebook and Ebay: Closer cooperation agreed
The online auction site eBay and Facebook plan to work more closely together in the future and develop a range of e-commerce applications that integrate with Facebook.
With the help of Facebook's "Open Graph" technology, Ebay customers will in future be able to read comments from friends about certain products or make recommendations themselves, representatives of both companies announced on Wednesday.
Katie Mitic, Head of Marketing at Facebook and member of Ebay's supervisory board, called on external developers to develop their own programs using Facebook technology. The focus is particularly on mobile applications. Facebook and Ebay are already working together, with Facebook already using Ebay's electronic payment system Pay Pal on its site. (SDA)
