Huffington Post expands to Europe

The U.S. website Huffington Post is expanding into Europe. Its first European edition is set to launch in France.

The first French edition of the Huffington Post is set to launch in mid-November. This is the first foray into the eurozone, says founder Arianna Huffington on Monday according to Spiegel.de. After that, further editions are conceivable, for example in Spain, Italy or Germany. However, she is still looking for partners in the respective countries, Arianna Huffington continued. There has already been a British edition of the Huffington Post since July.

In France, Arianna Huffington is working with the newspaper Le Monde and Les Nouvelles Editions Indépendantes LNEI, as she announces on the Huffington blog. The French edition, under the name Le Huffington Post, will be produced exclusively by local journalists and will also be anchored in French culture, according to Huffington.
