Ringier: L'Hebdo celebrates 30th birthday

The magazine, based in French-speaking Switzerland, made its debut 30 years ago. Today, it has a circulation of 45,784 copies. To mark its 30th anniversary, L’Hebdo is publishing a special issue on the theme '30 Future-Oriented Places.«.

At the beginning, Ringier even published L'Hebdo magazine in French and German, according to a statement on Wednesday. The Swiss-German counterpart Die Woche, however, lasted only two years and was then discontinued by the publisher. Under the leadership of its first editor-in-chief Jacques Pilet, the French version quickly became a popular hit on the media market in western Switzerland. To mark its 30th anniversary, L'Hebdo is now publishing a 238-page special edition on the theme of "30 Future-Oriented Places". This presents 30 extraordinary reportages, which were realized by the journalists of the editorial office from the Congo to Singapore to Rio, from the high plateaus of the Andes to Tasmania and Saudi Arabia. Of course, the story of the magazine's creation and success is also a topic in the special issue.

The special edition will be available on newsstands for three weeks from Thursday, September 29.
